নতুন ব্যবহারকারী তথা নবাগতরা উইকিবই সম্প্রদায়ের সম্ভাব্য সদস্য এবং মূল্যবান সম্পদ। আমাদের অবশ্যই নতুনদের সাথে সদয় এবং ধৈর্যসহকারে আচরণ করতে হবে— বৈরী ও প্রতিকূল পরিবেশ সবচাইতে দ্রুত ও বাজেভাবে সম্ভাব্য মূল্যবান অবদানকারীদের উইকিবই বিমুখ করে তুলতে পারে। সংজ্ঞা অনুসারে, নবাগত বলতে তাদেরকে বুঝায় যারা এখনও এটা জানেন না যে উইকিবই তথা আমরা কিভাবে কাজ করি। আমরা সবাই একসময় নবাগত ছিলাম, এবং আমাদের মধ্যে বেশিরভাগই আগ্রহী ছিলাম, কিন্তু প্রকল্পটি কিভাবে কাজ করে এবং কিভাবে সেই তথ্য খুঁজে পাওয়া যায় সে সম্পর্কে আমাদেরও তখন জ্ঞানের অভাব ছিল। এমনকি আমাদের মধ্যে অনেকেই অবদান রাখার কয়েক মাস (বা বছর) পরেও নিজেদেরকে নতুন হিসেবে বিবেচনা করি।
Newcomers are prospective members of the Wikibooks community and therefore a valuable resource. We must treat newcomers with kindness and patience—nothing scares potentially valuable contributors away faster than a hostile atmosphere. Newcomers, by definition, lack knowledge about the way we do things. We were all newcomers once, and most of us were enthusiastic, but lacked knowledge of how the project worked, and how to find that information. Many of us still consider ourselves newcomers after months (or years) of contributing.
 
Even if you never were a typical newcomer—perhaps you were just super careful to read up on everything before even making slight contributions—understand that we do encourage contributors (yes, also newcomers) to [[WB:BOLD|be bold]] and keep in mind the value of others in the community. Pride for your successful contributions to Wikibooks is hardly cause for looking down on enthusiastic newcomers.
